Continental Resources Announces Michigan Discovery
ENID, Okla.

Continental Resources, Inc. today announced a Trenton- Black River discovery in Hillsdale County, Michigan. The McArthur 1-36 tested at a rate of 20 barrels of oil per hour with a flowing tubing pressure of 240 pounds per square inch on a 3/4 inch choke. Approximately 182 feet of potential pay were encountered in the well between the depths of 3,400 feet to 4,020 feet. Continental owns an 83% working interest in the discovery.

Harold Hamm, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, commented, "We are pleased with the results of the McArthur 1-36. This is the first well we have drilled in Michigan. It gets us off to a very good start. The McArthur is one of several potential opportunities we have identified in the area, modeled after the prolific Albion-Scipio field. We plan to drill two additional wells offsetting the McArthur 1-36 in November and will be testing other opportunities we have identified on our 13,280 net acres of leasehold in the future. This discovery is consistent with our strategy of organic growth through successful exploration."
