OKLAHOMA CITY, April 28, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Continental Resources, Inc. (NYSE: CLR) ("Continental" or the "Company") announced today the Bakken field of North Dakota and Montana recently reached the milestone of 1 billion barrels of light, sweet crude oil produced.

According to data from IHS, the Bakken's cumulative oil production reached the billion barrel mark in the First Quarter of 2014.

"Two-thirds of this oil was produced in the last three years.
